The ITS Exchange Service is intended to serve campus units. It is available only to departments, which then provide it to individuals in those departments. It is an integrated email and calendaring package. For details, see About the ITS Exchange Service.
The ITS Exchange Service is a U-M-hosted service maintained on the Ann Arbor campus for users who have specific regulatory and compliance needs that prohibit them from using U-M Google Mail and Calendar.
ITS Exchange is approved for Export Controlled Research and may be used to share research data and information with authorized persons. You can arrange for Exchange accounts for this purpose by contacting the College of Engineering; College of Literature, Science, and the Arts; and U-M Dearborn representatives listed at Using Exchange.
Social Security numbers should generally not be sent through email. If you have a business need to use email for SSNs, consult with Information Assurance (IA). (Contact IA via the ITS Service Center.) IA will explore alternatives with you. If there are no appropriate alternatives, IA will work with you to ensure the SSN's are properly encrypted.
